How the math works
ETSYUS defaults: $0.20 listing fee per item sold, 6.5% transaction fee on item price plus shipping, and payment processing of 3% + $0.25 on the order total. Offsite Ads fees apply only to sales from those ads.
Profit = revenue − Etsy fees − your costs (materials, labor, packaging, postage, ads, other).
Worked example
A $25 item with $4.50 shipping: transaction fee ≈ $1.92, processing ≈ $1.14, listing $0.20 — about $3.26 in fees. With $14 of costs (materials, labor, packaging, postage), estimated profit is about $12.24.
